Who is Carlos Armando Hernandez? – Hernandez for Congress running against Seth Moulton Mass 6th District
Carlos Armando Hernandez (R-MA) entered the United States as a legal immigrant from the Dominican Republic in 1969 and became a U.S. Citizen in 1990.
Carlos started working when he was 13 years old as a Paperboy in Salem, MA when he purchased a paper route. He
later transferred the route to his 2 younger sisters.
Carlos also worked as dishwasher in a restaurant 2 houses away from his home in Salem and was trained to be a Cook and later, a business manager, at the age of 17.
Because of his entrepreneurship, everyone at his high school at Salem believed that he was destined to be a restaurant owner.
However, Carlos joined the United States Navy in 1979 & was stationed on the USS Independence CVA-62 attack Carrier and had multiple deployments that included Gonzo Station, the Iranian hostage crisis and the Lebanon Crisis. He re-enlisted for 4 more years & was transferred to the USS Affray MSO 511 Mine Sweeper.
After a service-connected injury and Honorable Discharge, Carlos came back to his hometown of Salem, MA and later moved to New Hampshire for a short stint in 1985 & 1986. He worked as a school bus driver, a Mechanic for 20+buses, and rose to assistant manager and became responsible for creating all bus routes for
the Merrimack, NH School Bus Company.
In 1987, due to his services connected injury, Carlos became self-employed and formed a consulting business which he has continued up to the present time. Initially, he subcontracted as a supervisor for a construction company, and then moved into in Real Estate, Information Technology (IT), Computer Networking, Web Consulting, Insurance Brokering, Custom Computer System fabrication and Web Hosting.
Carlos has resided in Saugus and the 6th Congressional District, continuously since 1992.
Carlos and his wife are the parents of two daughters who have resided in Saugus their entire lives.

Paris Climate Accord
I support President Trump’s withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate Accord, which fundamentally amounts to an international ‘Transfer Of Wealth’. The Paris Climate accord would not only have taken billions of U.S. taxpayers dollars and transferred them to other countries, but would have also costthe American labor force, severe job losses!
In withdrawing from the Accord, President Trump further cited a National Economic Research Associates study that concluded that:
…by 2040, compliance with the commitments put into place by the previous administration would cut production for the following sectors: paper down 12 percent; cement down 23 percent; iron and steel down 38 percent; coal — and I
happen to love the coal miners — down 86 percent; natural gas down 31 percent. The cost to the economy at this time would be close to $3 trillion in lost GDP and 6.5 million industrial jobs, while households would have $7,000 less income
and, in many cases, much worse than that.
Second Amendment & Guns
I believe unambiguously, that as stated in Amendment II of our U.S. constitution that, “…the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” State and Federal laws that contravene this basic constitutional “Right” by disarming or eroding the fundamental “right” of law abiding citizens to protect their families and themselves from potentially fatal criminal force, is not only unconstitutional, it is morally indefensible!
As a legal immigrant & U.S. Citizen I believe that as a ‘Nation of Laws’, we must enforce all the statutes passed by our Senators and Representatives and signed by our presidents. If you are here illegally, you broke the law & must face
the consequences.
Economy & Jobs
The government does not create jobs, businesses do. By cutting taxes and useless regulations, the Federal Government can create an atmosphere for entrepreneurs and small businesses to generate jobs and grow our economy.
It is crucial that the U.S. continues to support of Israel. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and America’s greatest ally in that region.
Disturbingly, the political ‘Left’ in the United States, has aligned themselves against Israel and their condemnation and boycotts of their products must be repudiated.
As your Congressman, I’ll do everything in my power to protect Israel and to maintain a positive U.S. relationship.
National Security
My family personally experienced a tragic loss in the Boston Marathon bombing with the assassination of my brother’s
nephew, 8 yrs. old Martin Richard, by Islamist terrorists. I will be very tough on national security and pledge to support
whatever means necessary to protect & defend the United States of America from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
